No! Cablex works perfectly with standard, free Plex Media Server accounts. Just sign in to your local or remote server and start surfing channels.
Does Cablex transcode my video or Direct Play it?
Cablex forces Direct Play to preserve your server's CPU and deliver maximum original video quality. Ensure your media is in Direct Play compatible formats (like MP4) and your network is fast enough for direct streams!
Are my Plex credentials sent to your server?
Never! Cablex connects directly from your device to your local or remote Plex server. Authentication happens safely on your machine using the official Plex OAuth standard.
Does Cablex work outside of my home network?
Yes! As long as your Plex Media Server is configured for Remote Access, Cablex will automatically discover and securely connect to it securely from anywhere in the world.
